There’s one change I’ve made in my daily routine that my hair has benefited from tremendously.
Have you tried oils and moisturizing products but your locs still seem dull and lifeless?
Sometimes it’s not what you’re putting “on”, but what you’re putting “in”.
In order for your hair to be healthy on the outside, health has to begin from the inside.
What does this mean? A major contributor to the health of your locs is water.
Topically, yes, water is your hair’s best moisturizer. After spritzing with Rose Water, I like to then seal in the moisture by applying oil.
If you’ve watched any of my Periscope videos or chatted with me on Instagram, you’ve heard me say “if you’re dry on the inside, you’re dry on the outside”. Meaning: up your daily water intake.
A general rule of thumb is to drink half your body weight in ounces every day. For example, if you weigh 140lbs, half of 140 is 70, so you should drink 70oz water each day to flush the toxins out of your body.
Secondly, look at your diet. Your hair needs nourishment that comes from healthy foods – fruits and vegetables. Greasy unhealthy foods could be a silent contributor to stunted hair growth or problem scalp. Consider adding a green smoothie with fresh kale and spinach to your morning routine.
Healthy moisturized locs will have natural shine and strength.

That’s an awesome idea! Operation find a water bottle/container in full swing!

This is a great reminder I’m so bad about drinking water. 🙈

I have a 32oz glass jar that I love. I bought egg nog over the holidays and saved its container. Good move! It makes drinking water a little more easy. I just need to fill it up twice each day.
